Marina del Cantone is the last village before the Sorrentine peninsula runs out of road: a pebble cove, a handful of fish restaurants and boats that go to Capri and the islets of Li Galli. Villa Cala del Fico stands at the top of the beach lane, a whitewashed stone house with a fig tree at the gate and a pergola kitchen under the vines.
Three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a long terrace make it an easy house for friends or a family with older children. The living room opens to the garden and you can carry your lunch from the outdoor kitchen to the table without taking your sandals off. A small studio below the pergola, with its own entrance, sleeps two.
The whole point of staying here is the sea. Walk to the beach in four minutes, rent kayaks from the cove, or book the village fisherman for a half-day to Li Galli and the Bay of Ieranto. Nerano’s famous courgette spaghetti is on the menu at three places within a ten-minute walk.
The road down is narrow; we send exact directions and have free parking for two cars. In July and August the lane is closed to through traffic in the evenings, and the village feels like a private party with fairy lights.

Haus und Terrasse sind toll, der Strand ist wirklich nah. Die Anfahrt ist eng und wir haben beim Parken etwas geschwitzt. Sonst nur Lob für die Gastgeberin und die gut ausgestattete Küche.
