B&B Reti e Colori

Reti e Colori means “nets and colours”, and from the rooftop you can see both: the fishing nets drying on the quay of Marina Corricella and the pink, yellow and blue houses stacked up the hillside. The house belonged to the Scotto family, who fish for a living and let rooms on the side. Now Giovanna runs it as a small bed and breakfast.

There are three rooms, all with private terraces, tiled floors, whitewashed ceilings and hand-painted majolica in the bathrooms. Two rooms face the harbour; the third looks across the rooftops to the hill of Terra Murata. Beds are dressed in cotton, the air conditioning is quiet and the Wi-Fi works even when the ferries arrive.

Breakfast is served on the roof terrace: Procida lemon cake, bread from the village bakery, fresh fruit, local honey and strong coffee. Giovanna will point you to the best swimming spots, where the fishermen eat and which steps are quietest on Sunday.

Procida is the smallest and perhaps the most authentic island in the bay, reached by ferry or hydrofoil from Naples and Pozzuoli in 35 to 45 minutes. The house is a ten-minute walk from the ferry landing at Marina Grande and has no cars at the door, just pastel walls and the sound of the sea.
