The wisteria that gives the villa its name was planted by the grandmother of the family who still own it, and for three weeks in April it turns the whole front terrace into a lilac roof. Under it sits a long chestnut table that seats ten, a pizza oven built from local stone and a view over terraced lemon groves down to the sea off Minori. This is the Amalfi Coast from the quiet side: ten minutes’ walk along a lane of lemon trees from Ravello’s square, and well away from the coach routes.
The main house has four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, cool tiled floors and thick walls that stay fresh without much air conditioning. Downstairs the farmhouse kitchen has a six-ring range, a proper oven and enough pots for a proper family dinner; the living room has a fireplace for cooler evenings in spring and autumn. Outside, a 10-metre pool, heated from April to October, sits on its own terrace with sunbeds and shade from a pergola.
Behind the house, the Casetta del Giardiniere is a one-bedroom stone cottage with its own entrance and terrace, which you can book on its own for two or add on for a larger group. A housekeeper, Anna, comes every other morning, and her tomato sauce, left in the fridge on arrival day, has become a minor legend among past guests.
We handle the practical side with care. We will stock the fridge before you arrive, arrange a transfer or a chef, and tell you honestly which of the village trattorias are worth the walk. The lane up is narrow and the final stretch is steep, so a small car is best, and many guests simply arrive by transfer and walk into the village for dinner. Come for a week if you can; the villa rewards slow time.

It helps. The villa has two parking spaces, but the last stretch of lane is narrow and steep, so please choose a small car. Many guests arrive by transfer and use taxis for dinner in Ravello. Buses to Amalfi run roughly every hour from Ravello’s square, ten minutes’ walk away.
Yes, it is private to the main villa and heated from April to October. It is 10 × 4 m, 1.4 m deep and not fenced, so children need to be supervised at all times.
Linen, towels, final cleaning, utilities, Wi-Fi and housekeeping every other morning. The tourist tax is paid on arrival. A refundable damage deposit of €300 is taken at check-in.
Yes. The Casetta del Giardiniere is a separate listing for two guests. If you book it on the same dates as the villa it becomes a convenient annexe for grandparents or friends.
We reply within a few hours to confirm availability, and your card is only charged after we accept. If we cannot host you on those dates we will suggest alternatives.

Stunning location and well-run. Be aware there are quite a few stone steps between the pool, the house and the parking, so it is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. Otherwise spotless and generous with the extras.

Away from the crowds, with views over the lemon terraces. We cooked most dinners ourselves and ate under the stars. The host handled our questions within the hour. Narrow road, but very manageable in a small car.

We rented the villa for a family reunion and could not have chosen better. The terrace is a living room. The chef dinner we added was extraordinary. The only advice: bring a small rental car and good walking shoes.

Wunderschöne Villa mit sehr gepflegtem Garten. Pool sauber, Küche gut ausgestattet, Betten bequem. Die Gastgeber sind unkompliziert und hilfsbereit. Für zwei Familien ideal; kommen gerne wieder.

An authentic villa with a magnificent view and a lovely pool. The drive back up the lane is a little stressful at night and the Wi-Fi was temperamental one evening, but the calm and the terrace more than make up for it. Our children adored the pizza oven.

We stayed a week in the main villa. The pizza oven became the evening highlight and the view from the pool is hard to beat. Communication with the host was smooth. The road up is narrow and steep and we missed extra pool towels, but otherwise a very good week.
