About this stay
Fornillo is where Positano swims when it is not performing: a short grey-pebble beach reached by a stepped lane, with two beach cafés and a view of the Li Galli. Terrazze di Fornillo sits one terrace above it, a former fisherman’s cluster rebuilt into four bright apartments.
The look is clean and unfussy: whitewashed walls, oak floors, blue-tiled kitchens and furniture that is more Milan than museum. Every apartment has a real kitchen, a sea-view terrace and good air-conditioning, which is why guests tend to cook breakfast and book dinner.
We are a short walk from the town centre by the coast path (about 15 minutes) and a ten-second walk from the water. There are 120 steps from the beach, nothing from the apartments to the lane, and a supermarket one turn up the hill. Plan on carrying shopping.
A local caretaker, Antonio, handles arrivals and answers messages fast. Tell us when you land and we will have the apartment cool and the fridge stocked with bread, milk and coffee.

Good to know
How many steps are there?
From the lane, about 25 steps to the entrance. The terraces are on the second and third levels; there is no lift. Fornillo beach is 120 steps down.
Is there parking?
No. Positano's garages are about 12 minutes away on foot, at roughly €35–45 per day. We recommend arriving by taxi, ferry or private transfer.
Are towels and beach towels provided?
Bath towels, hand towels and two beach towels per guest. Please do not use apartment towels at the beach café.
Can we check in late?
Yes. Self check-in with a keybox code sent the day before. We will wait if you message us before 22:00.

Fornillo is the right choice
Waking up with the Li Galli in the window, then a swim before breakfast, then a coffee on our own terrace. The kitchen was better equipped than my home one. Antonio met us with a smile and a map with his own favourite places.

Beautiful apartment, thoughtful design and a very helpful host. A few things were missing from the kitchen (a good knife, a grater) but Antonio brought them within the hour.

Great spot, steep path
The terrace and the beach lane are fantastic. We had to carry the suitcases up 25 steps from the lane, so pack light. The Wi-Fi occasionally dropped in the evening but was fine for streaming during the day.

The studio is small but beautifully planned. Strong coffee machine, good water pressure, linen that smelled of the sun. We cooked three times and ate out three more. Would stay again.

Perfect for our family of five
We took the two-bedroom with the big terrace. Kids on the beach all morning, lunch on the terrace, nap, repeat. The washing machine and the proper kitchen saved us. Highly recommended.
