Marina and Lucia grew up in this house, and after their parents retired they turned the family’s lower floors into four rooms. The fig tree in the courtyard is older than both of them. Every morning, under its leaves, they serve breakfast: fresh bread, ricotta, fruit, honey, Lucia’s lemon marmalade and a tower of homemade cake.
The rooms are small, quiet and pretty. Painted bedsteads, cotton bedding, hand-embroidered towels, shuttered windows. Two have little terraces with a slice of sea, one looks into the courtyard, and the family room takes three. There is no lift, no pool and no lobby: you will be given a key, a map and a recommendation for dinner.
The Locanda is up a stepped lane, above the piazza, five minutes from the beach and ten from Amalfi. It is far enough from the bars to be quiet and close enough to hear church bells at noon. The staircase to Ravello begins a few doors away.
Marina and Lucia speak English, French and a little German, and will happily arrange a boat, a cooking lesson or a driver. They opened the Locanda in 2025 and are still delighted when a guest says it feels like home.
