“Il Salotto” means the drawing room, and that is what these apartments feel like: a pair of tall, light-filled flats in a 1920s palazzo in the heart of Chiaia, one of Naples’s most elegant quarters. Giulia grew up two blocks away and rented the apartments to friends before opening them to guests. She has kept the stucco ceilings, the herringbone parquet and the shelves of books she could not bring herself to move.
The one-bedroom Salotto Apartment has a long living room with a sofa bed, a kitchen with a Neapolitan flip coffee pot and a bedroom that overlooks the quiet courtyard. The Terrace Studio, on the top floor, has a queen bed, a kitchenette and a terrace with a table and jasmine. Both flats have Wi-Fi, desks and shuttered windows against the city’s warm nights.
Chiaia is Naples at its most polished: Piazza dei Martiri and Via Chiaia for shopping, the Villa Comunale gardens and Lungomare for evening walks, and a hundred bars for the pre-dinner spritz. The funicular up to Vomero is a five-minute walk, and the historic centre is twenty on foot.
Giulia leaves a welcome basket with espresso, pastries and a hand-drawn map of her favourite places. She is on WhatsApp for questions and can arrange transfers from the airport or the Molo Beverello ferry port.

Yes, a small lift serves all floors. The Terrace Studio is on the top floor and the Salotto Apartment on the third.
Giulia or a local caretaker greets you, or you can use self check-in with a key box. We send instructions the day before.
Chiaia is one of Naples’ most popular districts, with cafés and families out late. As in any city, keep an eye on your phone and bag.
There is no parking at the apartment. A nearby garage is about €25 per day; the host will point you to it.
The Salotto bedroom faces the courtyard and is quiet. The living room faces the street, which has some café noise until about 23:00.

The flat is bright, beautifully furnished and very clean. The street gets noisy until midnight on weekends, but earplugs help. Chiaia is a great base for the whole city.

Hôtes charmants, appartement lumineux et très bien équipé. Nous avons marché partout, du Plébiscite au Castel dell’Ovo. Le café de bienvenue était délicieux et le quartier très agréable le soir.

The apartment is lovely and the lift is a gem. Chiaia is fantastic for food and walks. Getting taxis from the airport was a bit chaotic but Giulia’s transfer was smooth.
