Marco Bezzecchi took pole, the fastest lap and the win at Chang International Circuit, and Aprilia left Thailand leading a championship it had not led all winter.
Bezzecchi qualified on pole with a 1:28.652, led the 26 laps in 39:36.270 and set the fastest lap of the race on lap five. Pedro Acosta finished 5.543s behind him, Raul Fernandez a further 3.716s back in third.
Saturday belonged to Acosta, who won the sprint from Marc Marquez. Three of the 22 starters did not see the flag on Sunday, in air of 35°C over a track measured at 55°C.
