Eighth on 127 points, three podiums, one sprint win and no Grand Prix victory in twelve attempts.
The speed is not the problem: Bagnaia took pole at Le Mans and set the fastest lap there, was fastest in the race at Mugello, and won the sprint at Brno. The Sundays are the problem.
His best results have come when the race stayed dry and long — third at Mugello, third at Brno, third at Balaton Park. He retired from both Assen and Silverstone, which is 50 points of damage in two weekends against a team-mate who won three of the last five.
