Fior di Sale takes its name from the fine, flaky sea salt that the fishermen of the coast used to rake from the rocks, and the salt-and-sunshine mood runs through the whole house. We are on Minori’s seafront, one lane back from the sand, in a cream-coloured building with blue shutters and balconies you can wave from. Everything is a short flip-flop walk: the beach, the harbour, the church square, the baker and the sweet shop that sells the lemon delizia people travel for.
The 26 rooms are bright and practical, with tiled floors from Vietri, big windows and bathrooms with walk-in showers. Sea-view rooms have proper balconies with two chairs and a small table; the family rooms sleep up to five without feeling crowded. We never wanted a hotel where you tiptoe, so there are bike racks, a washing line on the roof and a corner of the lobby with board games.
Breakfast is a generous buffet on the first floor: local cheeses, warm cornetti, lemon cake, yoghurt, fruit and eggs made to order. In the evening the rooftop bar pours spritz and cold white wine from the hills above Tramonti while the harbour lights come on. For dinner we send guests to our favourite trattorias a few steps away and will happily book a table.
Minori is the quiet, authentic sibling of Amalfi and Maiori, with a flat promenade, a Roman villa and the start of the Path of the Lemons. Seasonal ferries leave from the pier to Amalfi, Positano and Salerno, and the bus stops 250 metres away. It is an easy base for families and walkers who like the Amalfi Coast but not its crowds.

The location and the breakfast are fantastic. Room was clean though a bit small, and the air conditioning rattled slightly. The staff fixed the shower pressure the same day. We would stay again and ask for a higher floor.

Wir haben eine Woche im Familienzimmer verbracht. Strand nur eine Minute entfernt, Frühstück reichhaltig und das Team sehr freundlich zu unseren drei Kindern. Das Eis in Minori war übrigens genauso gut wie versprochen.

Great location and a friendly team. Our room faced the road and the Saturday-night noise from the promenade was loud until after midnight. Breakfast was good. Would suggest asking for a courtyard room if you sleep lightly.

Send another messageMinori’s beach is a public stretch of fine pebbles and sand. We rent a reserved corner with loungers and umbrellas, available from May to the end of September; you can add the beach set when you book.
We have a small garage with six places at €20 per night, on request. There is also a public car park 400 metres away at the entrance to town.
Ferries run from Minori pier between April and October (check times locally). The blue SITA bus stops 250 metres away and goes to Amalfi in about 10 minutes. Taxis wait on the main square.
From 07:30 to 10:30, on the first-floor room and terrace. Early departures can have a breakfast box on request.
