Villa Pergolato is a pale-yellow house in the green, residential part of Sant\u2019Agnello, behind a gate and a long hedge of oleander. It belongs to a Sorrentine family who spent their summers here for three generations, and it still has the proportions of a place built for lunch: a vaulted kitchen, a table for ten under the vine, and a pergola so thick with lemons you can reach up and pick one.<\/p>\n
The main house has four bedrooms across two floors, three bathrooms and a sitting room with a fireplace for the shoulder months. Outside there is a private pool with a shaded children\u2019s step, a barbecue, two lawns for games and a gate that locks for toddlers. A separate garden cottage with one bedroom sleeps two or three.<\/p>\n
Sant\u2019Agnello is the quieter neighbour of Sorrento, with a proper village square, a good bakery and the Circumvesuviana station ten minutes away on foot, so you can reach Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples without a car. Ferries for Capri leave from Sorrento\u2019s Marina Piccola, a ten-minute drive.<\/p>\n
