Villa Solitaria is hidden on the Pizzolungo path, the coastal walk that curls around the eastern cliffs of Capri. There is no road: the last 120 metres are a stone stair under pines, which is exactly why the villa is so quiet. A single white gate opens onto terraces stepping down toward the water.<\/p>\n
The house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a long arched living room that opens on three sides. Furniture is simple and old: walnut chests, raw linen, a Sorrentine chandelier. The kitchen is small but properly equipped, and the pergola table is where the day ends.<\/p>\n
Below the terraces a private plunge pool sits on a ledge of rock, and a private stair descends to a swimming platform at the water\u2019s edge. It is the nearest thing on Capri to having the sea to yourself. A small studio on the upper terrace sleeps two and can be booked separately.<\/p>\n
