Marina del Cantone is the last village before the Sorrentine peninsula runs out of road: a pebble cove, a handful of fish restaurants and boats that go to Capri and the islets of Li Galli. Villa Cala del Fico stands at the top of the beach lane, a whitewashed stone house with a fig tree at the gate and a pergola kitchen under the vines.<\/p>\n
Three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a long terrace make it an easy house for friends or a family with older children. The living room opens to the garden and you can carry your lunch from the outdoor kitchen to the table without taking your sandals off. A small studio below the pergola, with its own entrance, sleeps two.<\/p>\n
The whole point of staying here is the sea. Walk to the beach in four minutes, rent kayaks from the cove, or book the village fisherman for a half-day to Li Galli and the Bay of Ieranto. Nerano\u2019s famous courgette spaghetti is on the menu at three places within a ten-minute walk.<\/p>\n
